Gutter Guard Reviews and Comparison: How does Gutter Helmet’s system compare to screens and other gutter covers?

What’s the difference between a gutter guard, gutter helmet, gutter covers and gutter screens? Gutter Helmet’s patented gutter guard system has been reviewed and time tested for over twenty five years. In a side by side comparison of various gutter protection products, Gutter Helmet protected better and kept our more tree debris than other gutter protection products. Gutter Helmet installs the best gutter protection system using a solid aluminum gutter cover that repels leaves and debris  and prevents clogged gutters.  Rain water travels over the smooth curved surface and through gravity is pulled into the gutter through a small slit in the side of the cover, where it drains safely away from your home. Gutter screens on the other hand are mesh covers full of holes and hundreds of tiny vertical slits that allow pine needles and certain types of debris to enter et caught in the openings, thus clogging the cover and/or gutters and making it less effective at capturing and draining away water.

Gutter Helmet is a solid gutter cover, not a screen. Gutter Helmet is NOT foam either. Gutter foams attempt to absorb water and block leaves from entering gutters. The problem is that leaves build up on top of the foam. When leaves and tree matter break down and decompose, particles and debris can enter gutters building up and causing clogs.

How is Gutter Helmet Different than Gutter Screens?

There are various types of gutter protection systems such as solid gutter covers, foam and gutter screens, all work a bit differently and have pros and cons.

Gutter screens are a type of gutter cover (like a mesh), filled with holes or vertical openings that cover a gutter system and attach to the roof shingles. Small holes in screens are better than large holes because they don’t clog as easily. The problem with gutter screens in general is that they keep leaves out, but small debris can still enter gutters through the holes. Pine needles, seeds and tree matter can get stuck in the small openings and stop the flow of rainwater into the gutter system.

Unlike gutter screens, Gutter Helmet has a multi-patented design has no vertical openings that can allow small fragments of debris to enter gutters. With Gutter Helmet’s solid gutter cover, leaves and debris are forced over the gutter cover and onto the ground, while surface tension causes water to flow around the exclusive curved cover design and into the gutters.

All rain gutter protection systems are not created equal. Gutter Helmet is the only system that really does what it advertises and backs that promise with a Lifetime Warranty. This is why Gutter Helmet is installed in more homes than any other gutter protection system.
